Last time I saw The Tygers, was in 1982.

 

Halle Gartlage, Osnabruck, Germany; a big cold shed in, what I seem to remember was, the middle of fucking nowhere. Could be wrong - unlikely, really, but it felt a little Stafford Bingley Hallish. Or maybe I was hammered and it was really a palace...

 

No, on reflection, it was a Schipol.

The Tiggers were [one of] the support bands to Gillan on the Double Trouble tour; the tour that Demon was originally scheduled as the support slot on.

I managed to wangle myself a backstage pass for that gig. Thanks Plug. Don't think I ever did say Ta!

Personally, I never much cared for post Jess Cox Tyger material. I still don't. Then again, I am a Blitzkrieg fan...

So, back to the future: I heard the Tygers soundcheck and that was more than enough for me. Sounded more of a mauling.

The Handsome Beasts, although not normally my particular bag as it were, I do like a lot, and they are a nice bunch of blokes (sorry if that ruins your street cred guys!)

 

Demon weren't bad by any means. But, the total lack of interest from the local yokels doesn't inspire a band to give much more than the 'basic' performance. It is a shame for those that do want to see the band though.

Them's the breaks kiddies.

What can I tell you?

Speaking of which, I never did get mine. Nor the Nelson Mandela that I was promised, gratis.

 

That's a Labour government for you.

 

Tax and spend, fuck up the country and then, when everyone's on strike and nothing is working, you numpties out there who voted that tosser Bliar into power will all be crying into your cornflakes. It's always the same. I remember the last Labour government... What a Mongolian Clusterfuck that turned out to be!

Right, well, that's filled in a gap!

I mean it about the Labour government though.

Within the next two years, everyone will be on strike, public transport will be a shambles, hospitals will not be able to take any more patients, and those they do will die of MRSA. We'll be taxed so stealthily we won't even notice most of it because we shall all be so outraged at those taxes we can see: on booze, fags, and petrol!

And the saddest thing about it all?

It'll still be the best choice because the Tories and LibDems are just such a bunch of wankers I wouldn't trust them to wipe my arse!
